A second funeral service has been held for the late Ebony Reigns in the UK. The funeral was organised by her mom, Madam Beatrice Oppong who lives in London and it was attended by relatives and friends who lived in the UK.
Ghanaians abroad usually hold funeral sessions for the loved ones who passed away in the country where they are based. In our culture, when someone dies outside the country and is buried over there, family members here in Ghana would still hold a funeral here to mourn the dead person and if the person dies in Ghana, very close relatives of the person living in other countries sometimes hold their own funeral there to mourn their lost one.
The late Ebony’s mom has lived in London for a long time and came to visit her daughter sometime this year. Ebony had gone to visit her mom who was staying in the North when she came to Ghana. When she was returning to Accra on her way, she got involved in a fatal accident that claimed her life and that of her close friend, Franky and a bodyguard Francis Astu Vondee.
At the funeral which was held in London on July 21, 2018, friends and loves ones paid their last respect to Ebony Reigns and donated money to support the family. Some of them even performed some of her songs to cheer up those who couldn’t hold their tears.
The late Ebony Reigns died on the 8th February 2018 and Ghanaians woke up the shocking news of her death the next day. Her funeral held in Ghana was well attended and tears flowed like a river from the eyes of her loved ones and friends. Late Ebony Reigns was buried on March 24 2018 at the Osu Cemetry.
